The Centennial Quilt created by various Mammoth Lakes community members in 1976 and commemorating the (almost) first one hundred years of the history of our community is now on permanent display at the Mammoth Lakes Branch Library!

The Mammoth Lakes library is located at 400 Sierra Park Road and opened in December of 2007. The building features public computers, free Wi-Fi, a children’s area equipped with developmental toys and a programming room, as well as two reservable meeting rooms. The Mammoth Lakes branch has a diverse selection of books, audio books, DVDs, Spanish language collection, and a Library of Things. Printing and copy services are available for 10¢ per side for black and white or 50¢ per side for color.
The Mammoth Lakes Library is a joint-use facility with Cerro Coso Community College. The Library serves community college students as their research facility. To access the college library site click this link www.cerrocoso.edu/library
Programs: The Mammoth Lakes Library has a variety of special events and programs scheduled throughout the year.
Storytime -- For this 2026 summer, the Children’s Library and Program rooms of the Mammoth Lakes Library will be set up every Wednesday at 10:30 AM for DIY-style fun and engagement for children 0-5 years old. Each Wednesday’s setup will provide themed opportunities for reading, exploring, playing, and crafts. There is no currently no Itty Bitty Rhyme Time on Fridays but families and groups are encouraged to utilize the Children's Library and program room to connect with others in a space that’s advantageous for early childhood development!
Makerspace -- The Mammoth lakes Makerspace is a free, creative workspace located on the second floor of the Mammoth Lakes Library. It features tools for sewing, jewelry making, fiber arts, specialized gear repair, and much more. All participants must must complete a Makerspace orientation and have a signed Mono County Libraries waiver on file (parents must sign for minors). Children must be at least 5 years old to participate and kids ages 5 to 3rd grade require an actively participating chaperone at all times.
