Bridgeport Friends of the Library Foundation

The Bridgeport Friends of the Library Foundation (BFOLF) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization established to raise funds to support our community library. We are an active group of dedicated volunteers. We are young and old, men and women, full-time residents, second homeowners, students, professionals, and retirees, all with a common goal to support our library.

What Do We Do?

Volunteer time to help sustain and improve library services, encourage reading and library use, assist with children's reading and story hour programs, and offer our services wherever needed.

Conduct numerous fundraising activities.

Budget thousands of dollars annually to buy books, books on CD, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, shelving and equipment, and supplies for children's reading program and story hours.

Help with library events.

Strive to make our library a hub of community activity and information.

How Do We Raise Funds?

In addition to funds raised through annual membership dues, we also have several ways to raise funds that go to the support of the Bridgeport Branch Library.

Conduct used book sales to provide good quality books through our popular July 4th Book Sale and ongoing used and vintage book sale shelves within the Bridgeport Library.
